I am Haniwa, a cool engineer at CANDY POOL.
I’m Candy, the lovely idol of CANDY POOL.
Here is the epoch & schedule report as usual.
Now that we’re in a new epoch, have you assigned a schedule for block generation?
Let me start with an apology this time.
Did you do something wrong?
See below.
CANDY POOL’s first Missed!
Missed happened due to my human error.
I restarted the cardano node for schedule calculation and stable operation.
At that time, I had operated under the assumption that two blocks had already been generated.(6:34 JST)
…
…
Since the cardano node takes around 5 minutes to stabilize operation after restarting
The cardanode did not start by the block generation schedule and failed to generate the block.
This is the reason for Missed.
Sorry everyone.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are very sorry for the failure of the block generation due to an operational error. To prevent such an event from occurring again, we will thoroughly implement a procedure for calculating the block generation schedule and create an alert system before block generation.
My apologies.
Due to the way the Cardano node’s block generation schedule assignment works, it can happen that an attempt is made to generate a block, but as a result, the block could not be created. Please be aware of this.
(lost battles with other pools, other pools with close schedules propagated faster, etc.)
This phenomenon can occur in all cardanodes.
When the amount of delegation is small, as in our pool, the amount paid to the delegator for each block generated is much heavier than in a pool with a large amount of delegation. The value of a single block is very heavy because the amount paid to the delegator for each block generated is higher than in a pool with a large amount of delegation.
…
There was no block generation schedule assigned for the current epoch 349.
…
Haniwa, if you have time to be depressed, please come up with a system to prevent this mistake from happening and report back to us.
Yes.
That’s all for today.
Have a good staking life, everyone.
I… I don’t have much of a presence.
